Sanda O'Brien (born Aderca) is a self-taught decorative artist who works & lives in Boston, Massachusetts with her husband. They have three grown children from their previous marriages.
Sanda was born and raised in Europe, where she obtained a Master's Degree in Engineering. Her real love for making (and un-making) jewelry started before the age of four, when she cut one of her mother's pearl strings to make her doll a proper-sized necklace.
Through the years, while she built her career designing mechanical systems for power plants, Sanda also created hundreds of earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Her frequent travels to Paris, where Sanda still has family, gave her plenty of exposure to the best sources for vintage jewelry. She bought and sold constantly, and built her own collection.
Sanda left her career and the corporate world when her daughter graduated from college, and devoted herself full time to what she always wanted to do: create beautiful jewelry.
